Derby College Group powers up automotive training with launch of cutting-edge facilities

Derby College Group is shifting into high gear with the launch of its brand-new, state-of-the-art automotive workshop facilities, and is calling on automotive employers to play a key role in steering the direction of future training.

The Automotive Employer Engagement Event takes place on Tuesday 13th May 2025 at the College’s iconic Roundhouse Campus, with two available sessions at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Jointly hosted by Gareth Sullivan-Pearce (Team Manager – Motor Vehicle) and Dharm Dhaliwal (Employer Partnership Manager), this unmissable event is your chance to see how Derby College is accelerating ahead to meet the needs of a fast-evolving industry and how employers can influence the road ahead.

From immersive workshop tours to an inside look at the College’s dynamic Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeship programmes, employers will have a unique opportunity to shape training provision that meets real-world business needs.

Speaking ahead of the event, co-organiser Gareth Sullivan-Pearce said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to showcase these new facilities, they’re a game-changer for the region.

“With the automotive world shifting rapidly towards electric and hydrogen vehicles, our workshops are designed to match that pace.

“This is about future-proofing the industry and making sure our apprentices are ready to hit the ground running.

“We’re inviting employers to be a part of that journey, because we know the best training is shaped by those on the frontline of the trade.”
