The winter garden located at the college’s Broomfield Hall campus, will showcase stunning displays of winter flowers, colourful stems, creative planting displays and heady scent.
As well as wandering through the winter gardens, visitors can also roam the 25 acres of constantly developing educational Victorian gardens and woodlands maintained by volunteers and students.
Gardening experts will be on hand to offer advice, plus there will be opportunity to buy seasonal plants and shrubs and to see Bonsai demonstrations.
There will also be free tours of the garden throughout the day and the chance to visit the Old Hall. Most areas on site are accessible to wheelchair users.
Samantha Harvey, Derby College Head Gardener said: “With spring not that far away, our garden is bursting into life once again and is full of beautiful colours and lovely fragrances.
“All the team has been working incredibly hard to make sure the gardens are looking their best and we’re all really excited to welcome people to come and enjoy the wonderful displays.”
The old hall will also be open, so visitors will be able to browse for gift ideas at the arts and crafts fair taking place during the day, plus the cafe will be open selling a selection of hot snacks and drinks.
This family-friendly event is taking place on Sunday 3rd of March at Derby College’s Broomfield Hall Campus near Morley from 10am until 4pm.
