Environmental and Sustainability at DCG
At DCG we recognise that the climate emergency is one of most threatening challenges of the twenty-first century, and therefore have committed to achieving net zero by 2050, in alignment with the UK Government’s target. We acknowledge our own corporate social responsibility to mitigate the negative consequences associated with this crisis and therefore we are working hard, as an organisation, to incorporate sustainable practice into everything we do. DCG recognise that sustainable development does not just involve improvements to the environment, but it also includes sustaining society and the economy for future generations. To ensure all aspects are embedded into all activities at DCG, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals will be used as guidance.
DCG will be following the EAUC’s FE Climate Action Roadmap to strive towards becoming a leading FE college in UK in sustainability. With this, our long-term aim is for the College estate to achieve the globally recognisable ISO14001:2015 certification.
