Course Information for Students

The 21st October is National Reptile Awareness Day and we would like to celebrate the reptiles we have at Broomfield Hall, Animal Unit. We are running a one-off reptile experience where children can learn about our amazing reptiles, such as snakes, geckos, lizards and tortoises.

During the experience you will get to handle some of the animals, help prepare their food and learn about their husbandry care needs. 

This experience is suitable for ages 8-16 year olds, with a keen interest in reptiles. 

You need basic literacy and numeracy skills plus some basic knowledge of animal care.  You should be aged between 8-16 years old.

The course will cover:

  • Feeding the animals
  • Handling the animals
  • Basic husbandry needs

During the experience you will get to handle some of the animals, help prepare their food and learn about their husbandry care needs. 

Sensible footwear for being on the animal unit 1.e boots, trainers or wellingtons. 

There is no assessment.
