Bridge the gap between Level 1 and Level 2 British Sign Language with this short, interactive course designed to build your confidence, develop your BSL vocabulary, and improve your BSL grammar and understanding of NMF.

Who is this course for?
This course is for students who are considering studying Level 2 BSL but would like some additional practice to build their confidence.
Entry Requirements
Learners must have successfully achieved the BSL Level 1 Award or be working at that level.

If your course is free, please note this is subject to eligibility and funding criteria.
What will you learn?
During this course you will begin to explore BSL grammar in more depth.
You will work on your use and understanding of BSL Signs Non-Manual Features (NMF).
You will also start to develop your BSL receptive skills.
How will you learn?
In classes with group work and practical sessions
What will you need to bring with you?
Please bring a folder to store handouts, paper and pen.
How will you be assessed?
At the end of the course, learners will be assessed. You will receive feedback to support your continued improvement and on your suitability for enrolling on the Level 2 Certificate in BSL.
Where next?
This course has been designed specifically to support learners in bridging the gap between studying at Level 1 and Level 2, which we deliver at our Joseph Wright and Ilkeston campuses. Subject to successful completion of the course, you may be recommended to enrol at Level 2.
The skills learnt will also be beneficial for communicating with other BSL users at home or work.
