Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at learners who have an inclusion need. It focuses on preparation for adulthood and developing skills for working in retail. You will gain experience working in our on-site shop. You will also continue to study Functional English and Maths, take part in a tutorial and develop the skills needed to work in retail by supporting the running of the on-site shop. This will lead to an OCR qualification in Customer Services.
Entry Requirements
It is expected that learners will want to continue studying and developing their skills in English, maths and independent living, while taking a pathway towards retail.
What will you learn?
Within this three-day (full-time) pathway, learners will work towards an OCR qualification, work on Functional Maths and English and preparation for adulthood, and gain work experience within a retail shop on-site.
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered mainly on-site at the Broomfield Hall campus.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be asked to make a voluntary contribution to trips throughout the year and may be asked to provide some personal safety equipment for your chosen options.
How will you be assessed?
Learners are set individual RARPA targets which are then reviewed every half term.
If appropriate, learners will develop evidence towards an OCR qualification.
Your learning support needs will be assessed and reviewed throughout the year.
Where next?
You can progress within the Pathways programme, to the Work Ready Pathway or to a Level 1 course at the College, or to seek employment or training.
