Who is this course for?
You will be provided with a foundation in the broad range of skills required to work competently within the floristry industry. Practical skills will be mostly practised and developed in the workplace while theoretical background knowledge will be taught and reviewed mainly at College.
Entry Requirements
You must be in employment and committed to a career in the floristry industry. You will undergo an initial assessment before starting the programme to ensure that you are capable of achieving the outcomes and have an interest in this area of work.
You need one of the following:
- Introductory Diploma in a related subject
- Three GCSEs at grade D (3) or above
You should also have a standard of English and maths equivalent to Functional Skills Level 1.
What will you learn?
You will be assessed through a portfolio, discussion and end-point assessment.
The course includes:
- Level 2 Florist theory and practical
- Independent assessment of a knowledge-based element for four units
- Key Skills: Application of Number Level 1 and Communication Level 1
- Additional Employer Requirements: Level 2 Customer Service and an additional optional unit from the Level 2 Floristry suite
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
How will you learn?
The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace and on-site at Broomfield Hall one day per week
What will you need to bring with you?
You are required to wear protective clothing and to have suitable tools and equipment. You will be advised at your interview about these and any other additional costs.
How will you be assessed?
You will be assessed through a portfolio, discussion and end-point assessment.
Training is largely work-based, with ongoing practical assessments undertaken in your workplace. You will keep a portfolio of evidence of your practical ability and theoretical understanding, and your progress will be regularly reviewed and assessed.

- Advanced Apprenticeship in Floristry
- Diploma in Work-based Floristry Level 3
- City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Floristry
You can also advance your career within employment in the floristry industry.
