Who is this course for?
If you use abrasive wheel machines for cutting or grinding as part of your work, for example in landscaping, building and construction, demolition, salvage and workshops, this qualification will test your competence.
Entry Requirements
You will need to be at least 16 years of age.
What will you learn?
The course covers the use of abrasive wheel machines in grinding or cutting and includes inspecting abrasive wheels and machines for damage, selection, fitting and adjustment of an abrasive wheel and the operation of an abrasive wheel machine within a specific industrial environment. The qualification certificate will state either “bench mounted” or “portable hand held” plus either “electric”, “compressed air” or “engine driven” depending on the machine used.
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own:
- Overalls
- Steel toe-capped boots
- Writing materials
- Lunch (there will be facilities on-site if you wish to purchase your lunch here)
How will you be assessed?
You will take a practical test with one-to-one verbal questioning as soon as possible following the successful completion of the training course.
