Who is this course for?
This module aims to develop students’ understanding of the main strategic aims and roles of the modern zoo. It helps them to apply current legislation and guidelines in the planning and practical workings of a zoological establishment. Students will pick the key aims of the zoo and apply these in context to develop an educational resource used to meet these key strategic aims. They will also focus on the economic aims of a zoo and how these resources are applied to both in situ and ex situ collections.
Entry Requirements
A knowledge and interest in zoo management, collections and roles.

- Review how zoo strategies meet their short-term and long-term goals
