Canine First Aid – Practical
This is a two-hour practical course allowing you to practise elements of the canine first aid course. On completion of the course, you will be issued with a College certificate.

Who is this course for?
Ideally you will have attended one of our canine first aid courses, but this is not compulsory.
The course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn and have a greater understanding of canine first aid and to become more confident and competent in first aid practical procedures.
It is ideal for dog owners, dog walkers, kennel assistants, dog groomers and those who have a general interest in the topic.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements.
You should have a genuine interest in dogs and should be keen to establish an understanding of canine first aid. Opportunities will be provided to practise certain procedures.
What will you learn?
This course covers the practical aspects of the canine first aid course:
- Scene assessment
- Restraint methods and equipment
- CPR
- TPR
- A variety of bandaging techniques
How will you learn?
- On-site attendance at Broomfield Hall.
- Theory, videos and practical.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own:
- Sensible closed-toe flat footwear
- Sensible clothing
- Writing materials
- Refreshments
How will you be assessed?
There is no formal assessment.
Assessment is by observation of your practical performance throughout the session.
