Art and Design Courses at DCG
Picturing a bright future for yourself in the creative industries? DCG helps turn your talent and ideas into a sustainable career where you can really make your mark. Fine art, graphic design, animation, illustration, photography, product design, arts administration … the opportunities are as endless as your imagination.
We give you plenty of freedom to express your originality but always with a real-world focus. You’ll gain high-level practical skills, commercial know-how and an appreciation of latest techniques, materials and technologies so that you’re well prepared for success as a modern creative practitioner.
You’ll be based at the Joseph Wright Centre, a hotbed of activity with specialist art studios and industry-standard resources for print-making, ceramics, 3D design, textile design and much more. You can reach new audiences with your work through end-of-year exhibitions, arts festivals and competitions.
We run courses at various levels to suit students with different interests and experience. Many want to progress to a degree so our Higher Foundation Studies programme is the ideal way to explore your future options. You could even stay on to take our Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) Creative Practice which encourage collaboration between different artistic disciplines.
