What will the apprentice be doing?
Reporting to and working with:
You will work within the Estimating team under the support and supervision of a dedicated mentor.
What will you do in the short term?
Initially you will spend time learning about the products we sell.
When you are confident with the products we offer, you will be shown how to review drawings provided by customers. Within the Docks team, you will be looking at drawings including; floor plans, sections and elevations and identifying where our precast Docks & Prowall products are required.
Once confident with reviewing drawings, you’ll be shown how to collate quotations, using our bespoke computer software, from here you will start to complete your own quotations under the guidance of a mentor.
You will also attend college on day release to broaden your knowledge and skillset.
What will you do in the longer term?
As you become more experienced in the role, you will be responsible for producing and managing multiple quotations whilst also learning how to convert an enquiry to an order. Whilst still supported you will have less reliance on your mentor.
You will also be introduced to other areas of the department with involvement in design, planning and production to broaden your overall knowledge.

Things to consider
A valid driving licence with access to a car is necessary. Unfortunately, public transport is not practical to the Weston Underwood site. You should have at least one of the following: Level 3 qualification with an overall grade equivalent of Merit. This could be a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction and Built Environment, three A-levels in relevant subjects or a Level 3 qualification in Engineering. An international equivalent of these is also accepted. Relevant work/industrial experience of five years (full time). If this work experience is not supported by education qualifications such as GCSEs, then a minimum proficiency in Maths and English at Level 2 needs to be evidenced.
