What will the apprentice be doing?
To work as part of a professional EYFS Team in our Academy
This will include:
- Supporting the breakfast club
- Being responsible for supporting child initiated and adult led activities based around the needs and interests of each individual child
- Supporting the observation and assessment of the children
- Working as part of a team to ensure each child feels safe and secure
- Working in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals
- Having a duty of care and following relevant safeguarding procedures
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
- This apprenticeship will be completed by working 4 days per week onsite with the employer, learning the job role and gaining valuable work experience, and then 1 day per week attending Derby College to complete coursework and assessments
- English and maths Functional Skills may be completed alongside the apprenticeship if necessary, however, passing this will be mandatory to receive the apprenticeship qualification
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Opportunities to progress into a full-time Teaching Assistant role upon completion of the apprenticeship programme
