Nineteen Derby College learners who are recent arrivals to Derby from across the world have compiled their stories of how they have come to the UK which have been published in a book entitled 'Our Journey to English' and launched as part of this year's Derby Book Festival (June 3-11 2016).

On Friday 27th May, Trent Bridge Cricket Club in Nottingham was home to the first East Midlands College HE Scholarship and Research conference. HE staff and students from 6 East Midlands College HE providers attended the event, which was hosted by the consortium of Leicester, Derby and Central Nottingham colleges.

Two Construction learners at Derby College are in line for places in the national finals of an annual skills competition later this year after clinching medals in the regional heats.

Creative Arts students at Derby College's Joseph Wright Campus will exhibit the work they have completed over the past year in a public end of year exhibition.

 

Derby College has been provided with a sample bulletproof vest from SafeGuard CLOTHING – an international manufacturer and distributor of body armour.

The vest will be used by learners on the Uniformed Public Services course based at the Broomfield Hall campus as part of their course.
