Course Summary

GCSE Mathematics covers many of the basic skills that you will need to use in a variety of ways all through your life. Basic Mathematical techniques will help you study in many areas such as science, business, psychology and technology. A grade C in Mathematics is often a requirement to gain entry onto a course or to advance your career.

This course is free (unless you already possess a pass grade at C or above in the subject, in which case fees will be £724 subject to concessions).

Please be aware that we only permit you to study either GCSE English or Maths in one academic year.

Entry requirements

We will ask you to take a short test at your interview, to ensure that this will be a suitable course.

Course Content

You will study Number, Geometry and Measure, Algebra and Statistics.

How will I be assessed?

There are two written examination papers. One is a calculator paper and the other is a non-calculator paper. There is no coursework for GCSE Mathematics.

Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

You will need a scientific calculator, a protractor, compasses and a ruler, in addition to the usual pens and pencils. We will advise you about a suitable course textbook.

What can I do after this course?
