Course Summary

Validated by Highfield Awarding Body of Compliance (HABC), an OFQUAL regulated awarding organisation, this qualification is designed for those candidates wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace, with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children.

The course will allow candidates wishing to seek employment in childcare to be suitably qualified in first aid for children and to meet the requirements of the national standards for childcare and child-minding. It will also provide an overview of first aid for anyone who cares for children.

Topics within this qualification meet the requirements for paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 as being important for maintaining safe and effective practice when providing treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel.
