Are you are a homeowner looking to save money on a DIY plastering project, or an experienced tradesman looking to extend your skills?
This five-week introduction is ideal for those who do not have the time or money to work towards a qualification but wish to learn the key principles of plastering without the burden of exams.
You will be taught by plastering specialists who will provide in-time demonstrations and specialist tips on how to get started.
All adults are welcome, ladies and gents, aged 19+.
There are no formal entry requirements for this experience - you just need a keen interest in home DIY and saving money!
Working within a warm and relaxed group environment, we will cover everything from the importance of health and safety to the correct use of materials and tools for application and finishing.
You will explore a variety of plastering activities, such as:
- Fixing plasterboard to stud work
- Professional flat skimming techniques for walls and ceilings
- Dry lining with plasterboard and adhesive
- Re-skimming techniques
- Feather-in for patch repairs
There are no assessment criteria - just observe, have a go and enjoy!
All materials will be included in the cost you pay.
Please note that you are likely to get messy, so consider wearing appropriate clothing. You will be working within a practical environment so safety shoes must be worn in the workshop at all times.
