Course Summary

As a beginner in furniture restoration, you will learn a number of basic skills which are required to bring a piece of wooden furniture back to its former glory.

During this hands-on practical course, you will work within a supportive group environment to gain the confidence and skills to restore furniture or wooden objects.

Entry requirements

The course is open to adults aged 19+.

There are no formal entry requirements.

Course Content

Over the six weeks we will cover:

• Health and safety
• Correct use of tools
• Repair techniques – dents and scratches
• Stripping and polishing
• Hints and tips

How will I be assessed?

There are no assessment criteria - just observe, have a go and enjoy!


Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

You will need to bring along your chosen piece/s of furniture or wooden objects.

All materials will be included in the cost you pay.

You will be working within a practical environment so safety shoes must be worn in the workshop at all times.  We can provide toe-capped attachments through prior arrangement.
